Discovering Fuerteventura
One of the charms of this magical island is its great richness and versatility. Each person who knows is a different island. Besides a rare peace and tranquility in our hectic days has great cultural, historical and environmental. From our Hotel JM Puerto del Rosario we are going to go with activities proposed routes so you can discover all its charms and surprising places.
For those who like to recommend hiring a car can be picked up at the airport as you reach the island, as you can enjoy the best of what offers you the way.
Gradually we will inform you of different routes. The first one:
ROUTE 1: ZONE NORTH.
1. We left Puerto del Rosario in the direction of Corralejo (30 km). More or less half way we met the Dunes Natural Park and one of the best beaches on the island. Where windsurf and scuba diving.
2. A little later we Corralejo, a fishing village that communicates with Lanzarote and Isla de Lobos. It is oriented to tourism, has many shops and places to eat but still without losing its local character, since it is also one of the main centers of population.
In Corralejo you can spend another visit because you can go to La Isla de Lobos (another nature reserve to make a day trip) and Baku (leisure center which includes a water park, aquarium [with sea lions, reptiles, parrots and pirate galleon] market from Monday to Friday, bowling, restaurant, ...).
3. The next point of interest is in El Cotillo, another traditional fishing village with beaches ideal for children collected. It can visit the exhibition hall of the Toston (old defensive tower) and the Lighthouse, now a museum for fishing.
Not to say that this town is one of the best places to sample the seafood cuisine native to the area.
4. Following the route we go to La Oliva, one of the inland villages with more life. It highlights historical buildings like the Church and the House of the Colonels (now exhibition center) and the Center for Contemporary Art.
5. The road continues south towards Antigua. On our way we will find the mountains of Esmeralda, a mythical place and the monument to Aboriginal D. Miguel de Unamuno.
6. Nearby is the village that houses the ecomuseum Tefía La Alcogida, an interesting place because it plays a village where every house is a workshop where old jobs are performed island's own (openwork carving stone and wood, basketry, making gofio).
7. If we still have time we can see one of the best sunsets of the island in the Port of Los Molinos.
These are just some of the places you'll find the route, but certainly during the tour you will discover many more.
If you come to Fuerteventura do not hesitate to contact us, we will inform you on everything you need.
